- testing physical (density, absorbability, porosity, soakability), mechanical, strength and deformation (compression, shear, bending) properties of rocks in complex stress conditions (uniaxial and triaxial)

- establishing the criterion of rock destruction and evaluation of their bump inclination
- determining the rheological properties of rocks and creating rheological models for different rock types

Monitoring and testing the state of mine support and lining
- monitoring of rock bolts and hanging wall behavior using extensometers and instrumented bolts in order to verify the rock bolting selection
- evaluation of strength parameters of concrete and brick lining using the complex, sclerometric and ultrasound testing
- measurements of thickness of cast iron elements of tubing lining and flaw detection tests of anchors fitting the shaft equipment to the shaft lining
- measurements, calculations and mapping the land deformation:
- monitoring lines (angular-line measurements, leveling)
- grids on shaft sites in LGOM mines (GPS and angular-line measurements; leveling)
- horizontal basic and detailed raster for LGOM mines (GPS measurements)
- comparation of electro-optic range finders

Tests of pipes and backfill quality
- tests of physical properties of hydraulic backfill (grain size distribution, water permeability, compressibility, density) and solidified backfill (grain size distribution, density, stiffen time, soakability, uniaxial stress strength, compressibility, water permeability etc)
- test of backfilling installations
- wear tests of backfilling pipelines (measurements of pipe walls thickness)
- testing the parameters of backfill slime flow (pressure measurements)
- investigations on improving the backfill pipes management (new pipe types).
